Happy Chinese New Year

Without fail, every chinese new year, i’ll hear stories of those unfilial sons and daughter-in-laws.

The number of unfilial ones is increasing and continue to live in their unfilial, selfish ways, but the good one is never being appreciated. Bastard…

Shall We Dance

Saturday

This weekends is rather a busy one. Every chinese has been working on their spring cleaning and chinese new year goodies buying. There is no exception for my family as well…

Woke up at 8am in the morning and was regret to find that i was late for work. Erm… It’s a false alarm. I don’t work on saturdays. Head straight to my bed again till my parents dig me up to go Taman Jurong’s Sheng Song. Spend the morning there to buy those goodies and packet drinks. No doubt, it is definitely crowding.

Started to clear the shoe racks outside, wash the flowers stand and floor. I feel the strains in my back and so, i decided to pull out the long hose out to the corridor instead of carrying pails of water out. Stupid me… I forgot to turn the tap off before connecting the hose to it. In the end, i wet half of my kitchen and whole of myself. Luckily my parents were not at home, if not they will nag at me.

Decided to take a rest, entertain myself with Alice In The Wonderland. Nah~ This is my second time watching it. And i never tahan till the 30 minutes benchmark. I fall asleep again. Conclusion is, i did not bake any cake as i suppose to, neither did i clean the rest of the rooms. Duh~

Had little coffee chats with Bong and my dad late at nite. Erm… What a cold nite it is. Ah choo~

Sunday

We watched Shall We Dance at Marina Square. Somehow i like the idea of having extreme personalities and different living lifestyles while you are at and after work. Just like Richard Gere in the movie who leads an ordinary lawyer’s life. He had a happy family but realised his life is so boring and dead. Everyday in the train, he would passby this dance studio, noticing Jennifer Lopez standing by the windows in deep thoughts. From there, he decided to give it a try on dancing. Slowly, he emerged and had his passion for dancing grows and blossoms. Heart-warming yet hilarious. Most importantly, you don’t feel as though you are rushing from one scene to another. Relatively slow but comfortable pace.

Met Geargina, Zhi Ming and her family at Marina’s carpark. She shouted, but i can’t figure out who the person is. Lester even mistook her as his mother’s friend. Hohoho~

We headed to Orchard for more shopping. Plan to eat Wen Dong Ji’s chicken rice for dinner but we ate too much junk food on our way. We tried Pepsi’s Fire and Pepsi’s Cold. Yup~ You got that gush of gases all up to your nose.

I was hooked with Sex And The City ever since the Pangkor trip. I still remember bong and me cooped up in the room most of our nites to watch HBO. And now, i have almost completed season 1. Each and every episode is so interesting. The topic is interesting, the conclusion is interesting, the quotes are interesting.

Police Academy

My younger sister’s boyfriend was enlisted to Police Academy 31st January.

Heard him complaining about his food there over the phone. I thought these were the normal stuff the freshies will complain. Only till yesterday nite, my sister showed me all the smses he typed. He goes:

“Dear, when thinking of you makes me feel like crying. ”

“Dear, i really feel like crying but then i can’t. When i hear your voices, i feel like crying. My eyes all turn red. But i must hide.”

“Dear, now i’m inside, i find that i love you a lot.”

“Dear, i bought you a red color diary for you to write down the days without me…”

Man~ Poor boy… This is the first time he expresses his soft side to my sister. I see liao also gei xim. I was trying to help him to get familiarise with the parade commands also. He keeps gana in the day. Rather demoralising…

Prepartaion For Chinese New Year

Saturday

Wake up damn early just to go for the shoe fair at Suntec City. Duh~ I thought how big it will be. But nah~ It’s just a small function room and nothing suits me.

Had a breakfast cum lunch at Cedele… Heez~ The bread and soup is nice nice nice. Feel rather cosy to have breakfast nowadays, coz i usually sleep till the sun scorch my backside. Heez~

Do some grocery shopping at Carrefour for cheesecake ingredients. Today is ‘Low Can Cook, So Can You’. First time trying out by myself, dunno whether it works anot.

Struggle a little to find all the kitchen utencils. Plus a little mistake here and there, finally finish everything by 6pm. Nite time, we help out to make pineapple tarts for chinese new year. Nice experience.

Sunday

Went Kenny’s house for house-warming party. Spend about 10 to 15 min just to look for his block. Rather confusing way of numbering the estates. Saw a number of familiar faces from the poly. Being showed around the apartment, i still like his room best. With the walls painted in purple-blue colour, i can sleep soundly quickly. But we also coope up in the room most of the time. Heez~

Returning back to home, we start doing little spring rolls with pork floss for new year. Not enough ingredients… Shall continue tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and the day after the day after tomorrow.

Tuesday

And as for today… I overslept in the bus again.

Last but not least, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BONG… Make a wish~ (^_^)

Why You Don’t Question A Drunk

A woman was shopping at her local supermarket where she selected: * a half-gallon of 2% milk, * a carton of eggs, * a quart of orange juice, * a head of romaine lettuce, * a 2 lb. can of coffee, * And a 1 lb. package of bacon.

As she was unloading her items on the conveyor belt to check out, a drunk standing behind her watched as she placed the items in front of the cashier. While the cashier was ringing up her purchases, the drunk calmly stated, “You must be single.”

The woman was a bit startled by this proclamation, but she was intrigued by the intuition, since she was indeed single. She looked at her six items on the belt and saw nothing particularly unusual about her selections that could have tipped off the drunk to her marital status.

Curiosity getting the better of her, she said, “Well, you know what, you’re absolutely correct. But how on earth did you know that?”The drunk replied, “Cause you’re ugly !”

Elektra

Friday

Friday has been a public holiday. So meet-up time for me with Chen Hui and Yi Mei. We went Esplanade rooftop and discover lots of changes. You will no longer see the big and spaces for sitting. Instead, they have the plants and platforms built.

Dinner at The Rice Table, because i have the voucher. Heez~ Pai seh huh… I’m quite a bit hungry at that point of time. Conclusion is i eat 3 servings of apple salad, 4 chicken satays, about half or more tahu telor and many others.

Saturday

Watched Elektra at Plaza Singapura. Elektra’s scene settings are pretty clean and zen-like. The animation effects are damn good. Story plot wise, well, all rounding the topic action-pack, what more can you expect?

Bought a lot of clothes and accessories from Plaza Singapura and Far East Plaza. If you want real fashion, this is it.

Recently hooked onto accessories like: earrings, bracelets especially and a couple of necklace. Hope to add to my collection soon. Heez~

The Phantom of Opera

Friday

These days have been really busy as both bosses are back in the office. Lately, I have to wait till 6pm in order to wait for London to turn 9am for business operating. So i waited, and waited, and waited patiently. Heez~ It’s just a funny feeling when London greeted you with a “Good morning!” while you are about to pack up and leave.

Watched The Phantom of Opera at GV Marina. The theatre is tiny winy small, but cosy. I din know about this story when i went to watch. Just that all my colleagues in office siao musical, and they have good reviews for this. Hmm…

I enjoyed throughout. Most of their conversations are expressed through singing. So you gotta pay 100% attention to their singing most of the time. And my dear, you have been fidgeting a lot. You need more of such training. Haha~

Saturday

We went Funan IT Mall. Lester can’t resist the ipoh Shuffle temptation and made a deposit. It’s not that they are not on the shelves yet. They have been sold out~ Next batch will only come next week.

We walk all the way to Chinatown for some clothing. Bought 2 skirts, 1 top and 1 jacket from OG and People’s Park Market. Well~ Those fashion shops in People’s Park Market are not selling any cheaper as well. Did went to the Chinatown Market. Hmm~ Nothing catch my attention. But i discover this year fashion is a little Bohemia + Thai like clothing. It’s all in colourful and cool material. But then, they din attract me. I tried the long skirt, and they become my ‘very long skirt’. Duh~ Can’t help it.

Heard the loud fire crackers and squeeze our way into the crowd. I promise i won’t do that. Nearly cannot breathe. Erm… Anyway, we see nothing as well. Haha~

Sunday

I catch a cold last nite. I think it might be becoz of my cold shower in the middle of the night. My eyes went swollen and i’m keep going ‘ah-choo’ continuously. That is killing me. Stuck 2 tissues to my nose, i know that’s ugly, but my nose feels more secure and stop all the ‘ah-chooing’. Funny nose.

Can’t wait for chinese new year. Feel rather different.

Oh yar… Tonight Singapore vs Indonesia in Tiger Cup. Saw Mohd Ridhuan, No. 2 player, in the Singapore team. At that point of time, “You finally make it to national team~” strikes me. This guy is my secondary school classmate. He has been excelling in school team’s track and field and school team’s soccer. Rather recognised, and he was sent to national team at his secondary school age. But i remember he was caught smoking with his friends in the void deck. That disappoints those PE teachers. Anyway, since he has found his path of career, shall congrats him.

Chinese New Year Gathering

Erm… This could be a little early. But i just wanna booked you people first.

I was thinking of a chinese new year gathering like what we had for the past few years. Do you people prefer having cozy steamboat at home or wanna eat out? Most pobably, it will fall on the 19th February 2005, a Saturday.

Please mark your attendance here and confirm your availability. Any other innovative and constructive suggestions are welcome as well.

Opening A Bank Account

Saturday

Wake up early to the banks. I opened another account in UOB and applied for their mini debit card for the moment. It’s free for lifetime. As for a credit card application, your annual income must be at least 3ok. My new account has this little limitation, daily balance for the day must be $500. As for OCBC, on average, you must have 1k in it, according to Serene. Diaoz~ Must plan how to put my money liao…

Went to Phoon Huat Jurong East to buy all those bakery ingredients. Headed back home for some spring cleaning. Nobody is at home except my mother. So i started throwing and she started picking them back. I’m the bad guy, i throw them away again while she is not looking. Hahaha~ Found 3 suntanning mats, 1 tumbler, 1 frisbee, 5 skipping ropes and 2 big boxes of barbie dolls… I’m not even done with my rooms. And i spend the next half of my night to baking cookies and making desserts.

Sunday

Went praying at Si Ma Lu with Lester’s family. Breakfast at Bugis’s Swensen. Fulling~

Been slacking the rest of the day at his house. Aimed to do birthday ecards. Nah~ Always never accomplished. Both of us ordered pizza for dinner. Just for 2, we spend $40++. Heez~ Got 1 pan size chicken supreme stuffed crust pizza, 1 chicken ole baked rice, 1 large popcorn chicken, 1 large whipped potatoes, 1 garlic bread, free 1 nachos chips and chicken wings. Heez~ Blurp~
