Asia Pacific Conference 2005

It has been a week after the conference. Trying to recall what had happen in the 4 days 3 nights event…

20 September 2005
All delegates should be checking-in to The Sentosa Resort & Spa – A Beaufort Hotel. Met Joyce and Raymond at the hotel lobby to finalise everything.

As some of them checked-in earlier yesterday, we are not able to hand out the goodies bags to them in time. Joyce has generously offered the house-keeping to put the bags at the counter. Phew~ While me back in my room, enjoy a short break with the Cartoon Network. You know what? My room is all to myself. The bed is as big as you can put 3 pillows horizontally across. I have a bathtub and a big dressing table all to myself.

Tonight is the Cocktail function by Singapore office. Have to wear formal business wear. They are giving away combo drive for door gifts. People who has responded and attended to the cocktail is miserable. Everything is so boring. Me and Zie wander off shortly at the hotel lounge.

Was told to prepare popcorn very last minute for tomorrow’s presentation – a surprise for the delegates to keep them awake after lunch. Chan fetched me to the Holland Village’s 24 hours Cold Storage to hunt for them.

21 September 2005
First day to conference, wake up early to setup the PC and projector with the engineering department people from the hotel. Breakfast at The Terrace, quite a boring spread I thought. Everything runs smoothly throughout, both me and Zie are happily enjoying the 2 tea-breaks during the day. Basically, endless eating from: breakfast to morning tea-break to lunch to afternoon tea-break and dinner.

Tonight’s dinner is interesting. We are going to the Night Safari. Supposedly to arrange for Gourmet Tram, but the maximum it can take is 38 pax. We are overshot by 2.

Anyway, had a welcome drink and was presented with 2 animals: yellow snake and owl at the tram station. Board the tram for at least 20 minutes and see quite a bit of animals. The whole team are separated into 2 groups before we proceed on to a 30 minutes guided Leopard Trail. Yup… All on foot~ At this particular spot, where we see fruit bats and flying monkeys, we have to walk through the trails all alone. Nah~ Din see the tiny winy fruit bats, but the flying monkeys just hang themselves on the trees at our eye level. So big~

Dinner are setup specially for us. I was given a bag of soft toys to share with Zie. Keke~ The last part of it was another 20 minutes tram ride to continue the trail.

It’s funny to see one of my bosses to get so high, wanting the rest of the directors to join her at Safra Mount Faber for karaoke tomorrow nite.

22 September 2005
Last day of the conference to the delegates, but It was only my second last day here. Presentations running in the first half of the day, while ‘The Apprentice’ team break up has just started after lunch.

A coordinator was engaged for this. He did a little demonstration on our delegates, to reflect some human body indicators, on how strong our beliefs are. Very amaze by the result. The most interesting part comes after next as we had role-playing session where 2 of the representatives will pose as difficult clients. So these groups had to perform well in the interview and provide a best solution in the end of the day. Winning team each receive a Creative MP3 player.

Last night dinner was held at the Mount Faber. Took the cable car from Cable Car Station Harbour Front to Mount Faber. Pretty romantic there. Well… I would say the food wasn’t as appetising to me.

Chan came over at night and stay till the next day.

23 September 2005
Oversleep a little. Luckily I prepared everything before I turn in. Phew~ Had our breakfast at The Terrace and met some of the departing colleagues.

I had my last meeting till 12pm before I pack up and leave for the office.

A farewell dinner for Aileen at Plaza Singapura, Mahanttan Fish Market. She will be leaving the company and work in a kindergarten.

24 September 2005
Fanny celebrated his baby, Benjamin, first month. Had a buffet gathering at her condo’s function room. Hmm… We nearly lose our way. Brought Chan along and introduce to the rest of the colleagues. Edel and Catherine was telling him “These are the aunties she mixed around in the office.” Kekeke~ But they are nice people, young at heart.

Some of the photos taken during the conference.

To Be Inspired…

Thursday
There are countless thoughts in my small tiny brain. All about excelling and changing my attitudes towards the big term, DESIGN.

Suddenly feel a strong urge and motivation to upgrade myself. So much so that I wanted to join a career, FOREVER LEARNING career. And seriously, I am a little bit greedy now. Hunger for books, hunger for knowledge, hunger for experience and hunger for exposure.

Wanted to expose myself to photography, had a little guidance and advise from everywhere. Beleive photography can value-add to my design. Gotta dig my head into books after this September conference. Also, the IDN conference this year at Suntec and Expo. Very keen to go.

Friday
Today is Xing Cai’s last nite on the main land. He will be serving the nation from now on. Went to Gone Fishing at Hillview. Surprisingly, in such a terrace estate, you are able to find such a cafe. I would say it is rather relax and carefree, no fanciful decoration and most of all, food there is nice. Had a little chat with the 2 shop assistants, very friendly and chatty. The boss, Kenny, too.

Saturday
Take up nailart classes at Choa Chu Kang CC. A bit lonely going alone. See pople in 2s or 3s. Hmm… But some of the aunties are fine. Many had attend classes by the instructor.

What i have learnt: how to correctly paint your nails, how to draw the nail art, how to enhance the nail art with the help of glitters, diamonds and other decorative materials.

Most of the material can be purchased in the bookstores. Rather inexpensive. Well… The rest is left for your creativity. These are my first nail art. Ugly~

Sunrise – Norah Jones

Sunrise
Sunrise
Looks like morning in your eyes
But the clock’s held 9:15 for hours

Sunrise
Sunrise
Couldn’t tempt us if it tried
Cuz the afternoon’s already come and gone

And I said
Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you

Surprise
Surprise
Couldn’t find it in your eyes
But I’m sure it’s written all over my face

Surprise
Surprise
Never something I could hide
When I see we made it through another day

Then I say
Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you

And now the night
Will throw its cover down, ooo, on me again
Ooh, and if I’m right
It’s the only way to bring me back

Hooo, hooo, hooo
To you
Hooo, yeah, hooo, hooo
To you

June Belated Birthday

Had dinner with June at Jurong Point. It was suppose to make up for her birthday celebration that i can’t make it the other week. Bought her a necklace and hope she likes it. And a card to remind her not to drink too much? If not she will be going around stripping other men.

We had dinner at Crystal Jade Kitchen and there is nothing more we can do than gossip. Hahaha~ She has been quite mean as well actually, quite in tune with me. The usual people we talk about. Lalala~ We even took some pictures. Ermm… Most of them are my solos, wonder what she is doing with them? Kinda worried… Can i edit them pictures before you post them on your blog? Kekeke~

Walk around and settled down again at MacDonald. Trying to check-out her life in university. “Pretty hard to find friends that you clicked. Many from the JCs entry had their clicks formed long time before. Group mates for group projects are randomly grouped, only some projects you may choose and pick your members.” she mentioned. Well… Well…

I just reached home a couple of minutes earlier than Zhen. Heard a different voice, feel a different company when ‘he’ send her home. Trying to make funny noises to capture his attention and look up to my window. Nah~ Din succeed. I tried my best not to be too stern when talk about her relationship, dun really want to end up in loud shouting. Wonder at your age of 19, what do you pursue in a relationship?

The Cave

Thursday
I rush back home to watch Project Superstar. I can’t imagine the crowd in the train, lots of people. Happen to read a chinese wan bao’s headline when a man holds his newspaper right up in front of me. There is an outbreak of sore eyes in the community, over 5000 people are affected. So guys, take good care of your eyes.

This is the finale of the Project Superstar. Each writes a different chapter in their life… Good luck then~

Friday
Yesterday was a half day for me. Me and Lester each bought a new Sony Network Walkman (NW-E105), one pink one blue at Comex 2005. But the Comex only carries silver and blue. So I had mine reserved at Wisma’s Sony Gallery. Lunch at Joaqium for the porridge buffet. Yum yum~ Loves porridge.

Fall into deep sleep from 6.30pm to 12am before we decide to catch a movie, The Cave, at Cineleisure. The movie is about cave exploration. A group of expertises first came 30 years ago, looking for the cave. What they see was only a church. As they break through the floor and locate the cave, the whole church collapse, burying them. Another group of expertise came 30 years later to find the same cave. This time they believe there is an underground passage. A team of professional cave divers are engaged in this operation too. They would never imagine the danger and threats hidden. Deep inside are monsters which morph and revolve, having special physical features that allow them to survive in the cave environment.
