Robots

Just watched Robots at GV Jurong Point. Another must catch cartoon.

Story started in a robot city, where this robot Rodney Copperbottom is born. As he grows up, he needs different spare parts to “upgrade” himself. But he always receive the used ones from his relatives. Slowly, he gets his inspiration from his super idol, Mr Bigwell. There he started all his inventions and look forward to show all to Mr Bigwell.

You will be pleased by the scene settings, the creative ways of how a robot lives like in its woprld, the texturing, the physique and the humour that has been spreading throughtout the movie. Even better than Shark Tale and The Incredibles in my opinion. Heez~

There are a few more cartoons coming up. Hmm… Keep a lookout for Madagascar and Ice Age 2.

Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don’t know where it goes
But it’s home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I’m the only one and I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a…

[Chorus]
My shadows the only one that walks beside me
My shallow hearts the only thing that’s beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone

I’m walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the border line of the edge
And where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What’s fucked up and everythings all right
Check my vital signs to know I’m still alive
And I walk alone

I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk alone
I walk a…

Elaine’s Birthday

Transfership of iPod owner to me… Thank you dear~ Spend our sunday ripping cds. And also a jog round Bukit Purmei. We climb our way up Mount Faber through stairs. Panting and panting. I strain my back and injured my tendon.

Went to Elaine’s 21st birthday party. Quite a big group of friends. But we had a chance to gather and chat with our friends. Nice to see familar faces around. We gals left early and had a supper at NYDC Holland Village. Gals chat throught the nite. Heez~

Unorganised Thoughts

Read this when i was in the salon last saturday:
“A lot of women expect their friendships and social life to happen effortlessly. It may be that way in high school, when everyone is stuck in the same boat. But it doesn’t work in adulthood, when everyone has her own set of priorities. People who succeed at friendship are those who invest time and thought into making pals. They show their friends that they’re valued.”

Yesterday took half day off to Suntec Computer Fair. Slept at 7pm till 2am. Went to the West Coast MacDonald’s Drive-Thru to get my dinner. Interesting~

Happen to hear this on air, 11 March 1302, is Romeo and Juilet’s wedding according to Shakespear.

The Hitch And A Series Of Unfortunate Events

Went to cut my hair last saturday. Erm… Now my head looks BIG~ Hahaha… Meet up with Bong to shop for her Annual Dinner & Dance for her club. Spend the whole afternoon at Orchard eventually.

Had an unplanned “movie marathon”, watched The Hitch and A Series of Unfortunate Events one after the another. The Hitch is nicer than A Series of Unfortunate Events I would say. The latter one has no plot at all just a display of the good cinematography, visuals and make-up effects. While The Hitch is more meaningful.

A Very Long Engagement

We watched ‘A Very Long Engagement’ on Sunday. It was a sudden decision to catch a movie. Wanted to watch ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’ but they left the first row available.

A Very Long Engagement is a French movie about how a war separate the young couple after their engagement. Mathilde, the young lady, deeply believes that her fiancée is still alive even others have given up. Through little clues here and there, she starts her search for her fiancée, who has disappeared from the trenches of the Somme during World War One.

I thought i’ll tear. Nah… I din. But as i turn and walk out of the cinema, i saw a seat full of crumble tissues, i burst out into big laughter. Wonder which idiot cry. Hahaha~

Took a day off from my work. Watched the Oscar Awards, did some running, ironing and clearing my wardrobe. Hmm… Sense of fulfilment. Heez~

The Grey Grey Sky

Wonder how long can one feel demoralise?

The feeling of the sky is always grey and cloudy when it is actually sunny and bright. The feeling of being strong but yet so strengthless. The feeling of you own your life, but others own you.

Not easy being a human eh? (o.O)

Constantine

Another great movie by Keanu Reeves. Movie about exorcism, human, demons and angels. Good visuals. It gets into the plot very quickly, and you get to see creatures at the first 10 minutes. Some part of it is hilarious, definitely worth a laugh. But 1 lame flaw that kills the image of an angel. Duh~

I love all these fantasy genre of movies. But it just makes me uncomfortable each time I finish them. I hate the feeling of being “brain-washed”, and keep my brain all occupied with flying angels, demons appearing in my mirror while washing my face, bio-zombies pushing their ways up from the stairs and out from the lifts. Man~ There is a likelihood that I will suffer from mental disorder one of these day.

I hate to be reminded of the number of days I have on this earth. The feeling of uncertainty to the world after your last breathe is enough to make me toss around the bed throughout the nite. Once she told me, you fear because you have things that are not accomplished. Pretty true isn’t it?

Origins of Valentine’s Day

Every February we celebrate Valentines Day by giving flowers, candy and cards to those we love. You may be wondering, “Who is St. Valentine”?

Legend has it that Valentine was a priest who served during third century Rome. There was an Emperor at that time by the name of Claudius II. Emperor Claudius II decided that single men made better soldiers than those that were married. With this thought in mind he outlawed marriage for young men in hopes of building a stronger military base. Supposedly, Valentine, decided this decree just wasn’t fair and chose to marry young couples secretly. When Emperor Claudius II found out about Valentine’s actions he had him put to death.

Another legend has it that Valentine was an imprisoned man who fell in love with his jailor’s daughter. Before he was put to death he sent the first ‘valentine’ himself when he wrote her a letter and signed it ‘Your Valentine’, words still used on cards today.

Another valentine gentleman you may be wondering about is Cupid (Latin cupido, “desire”). In Roman mythology Cupid is the son of Venus, goddess of love. His counterpart in Greek mythology is Eros, god of love. Cupid is often said to be a mischievous boy who goes around wounding both gods and humans with his arrows, causing them to fall in love.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all and my dear~ (^_^)
